Gary 3.0 out of 5 stars Instructions say to press and hold both the left and right buttons for 3 seconds. This is a real pain to then have to reset everything just to reset my mileage. I did a search in the Q and A section for this, and in there it says the manual is wrong and you only have to press the left button for three seconds.this DOES NOT WORK ON THE DASHBOARD 150. Pressing and holding the left button does nothing on the Dashboard 150. Hence the 3 stars. If someone points out an easy solution, I would happily change to 5 stars. So far, no solution.Let's face it you want to look the part when you get a new bike and the sexy aero frames and carbon stuff is an economic sacrifice if you're not rich. For those on a tight budget If the cost of the bike uses up the entire budget, you have to wait till the next paycheck (or next few depending.) to get all the accessories you want. That's where this thing shines. That is what I love most about it. It requires you to program in your wheel size and a few basic parameters like KM or Miles and the time etc. You then toggle through the different displays by pressing the right button to see distance covered, average speed, max speed and time etc. It doesn't have GPS but my goodness for the tiny size and basically giveaway price this thing packs an impressive punch for the rider who just wants basic data in a neat tiny lightweight package.

I haven't verified some of the advance features it has as yet like it's supposed to show you via the bicycle icon when you're accelerating or decelerating by showing the wheels on the icon spinning forward or backward but I didn't remember to verify this on my test ride. It also shows a plus sign or minus sign if you're riding above or below your average speed. These features are so cool and it's hard to believe that it can do all this for such a low price. I wish there was a more elegant way to mount it instead of using the cable ties it comes with and I may try to figure out a way to eliminate the somewhat tasteless look of the cable ties around my front fork. For now I feel like a sophisticated intermediate rider right out the gate on my first ride without breaking the bank and I have to admit that because of the price, I won't hesitate to recommend that everyone who's considering buying a bike should get this bike computer as a starter and then decide if you want something more sophisticated after. This was purchased as a replacement for a Bell F12 cycling computer, which lasted for 7 years and over 5000 miles. That unit finally corroded due to being in a mostly marine environment. This seemed to be the newer version of the device. It is much lighter in weight and the control button is not as robust. The zip ties for attachment to the bike are very thin and do not secure the computer and sensor mounts secure. After two months (and the return window has closed), the computer would not turn on after trying several troubleshooting measures: new battery, realigning the sensors, checking the wires. While relatively inexpensive, this is very disappointing. I would have been satisfied to get at least a year out of this device, but this severely under-performs.It has all the functions they say and they work just fine. I consider this computer to be a real bargain for cyclers. BUT.. I recently discovered that it doesn't record distance if you are moving slowly.

In my experiment, I moved ahead at less than 1 mph. The spinning wheel indicator would spin when the magnet passed the sensor, but if the indicator stopped spinning before the magnet passed the sensor again, the distance would not be recorded. I proceeded slowly for over 100 feet without distance increasing in the DST mode.Very nice easy to install bike speedo. My initial frustration was the owners manual gives wrong method to reset the trip meter. This is something I want to do at the beginning of each ride. The manual give directions that cause the entire unit to be factory reset. It looses time, wheel diameter and total mileage if you try to reset the trip meter their way. The correct way to reset the trip meter is gently press the left end of the button for 2 seconds while looking at the trip meter. When it goes to zero let go. If you press in the middle or press on the left end too firmly it effectively presses the entire button (both ends at once) down and this is for a factory reset. Just press the left end gently for 2 seconds and you're good to go. Seems like they'd correct the included owners manual by now. Other than that I like it and would definitely buy it again.I've installed and used similar types on several bikes over the years. This unit is wireless and was the cheapest I saw. I calibrated it in my driveway to determine accurate distance of one wheel rotation with me on the bike. When riding I noticed that the speed would vary considerably (15mph - 9mph - 14 mph) even though I was pedaling at a constant rate on a relatively flat road. I then checked the mileage on my standard ride and compared with distance reported by similar device on another bike. It reported a shorter distance which was consistent with the speed variation - as though it was losing contact with the transmitter. I also compared distance on 2 separate identical rides and they were not the same. What's the point of putting an inaccurate device on your bike?

The cable was tied in a loose knot. This makes me think it was repackaged returned merchandise. We'll be back soon, thanks for your patience. Estaremos de vuelta pronto, gracias por su paciencia. Isn't clogged-up with all the unnecessary whistles, bells and idiot switches. Big screen easy to read while navigating city traffic or rails to trails. It's cheap and so far very reliable. I do agree that the instructions suck. I think you'll see if you purchase it, but they weren't impossible to follow. My biggest issue was the alignment of the magnet. But I can chalk that up to operator error. Still haven't figured out how to reset the distance indicator without zeroing everything else out and having to re-input. Small, but functional and easy to read. This one also has the ability to insert your tire's radius for super accuracy. Many at this price don't. Easy to set up and appears of good quality. After years of paying way more for computers that would last a year or two, I found these. I have two, one on each bike, and they work as reliably as the expensive ones. I mainly time rides with them so basic is fine. This item is a piece of junk, do not waste your time. Te sensor is wired so shoddily it broke on my 2nd trip.

See more VS Most helpful negative review 8 customers found this helpful Average Rating: ( 1.0 ) out of 5 stars Instructions on reset WRONG, who knows what else. If you are reading the instructions to figure this cyclocomputer out. You will be frustrated. The instructions clearly say to press both the right and the left button for 3 seconds to reset the DST (trip mileage). This always resets every thing like removing the battery does. After much playing with various options and mode I figured out that to rest the DST you have to have the DST displayed and then ONLY push the RIGHT button for three seconds. It may work fine in other respects but the instruction make it a bad product. Who knows what other parts of the instructions are wrong. What does it mean when things are flashing. As others have said, the instructions are wrong for resetting Trip Meter (DST) page 7. You must be on the DST screen, then just press and hold LEFT button only (NOT left and right). The instructions are correct for the rest of the features including how to reset Trip Timer (TM) page 8 and MOST IMPORTANT is how to save your total bike mileage.(be sure to write it down before you replace the battery).once again be sure your on the correct screen, in this case the Odometer (ODO) screen and follow the instructions on page 10. Also if TM,DST and AVS are flashing (blinking) your in Freeze Frame Memory, see page 10 (it's a feature !) OH I amost forgot.on page 5 it shows the distance between sensor and magnet (good luck reading it (so tiny), but it says 2mm MAX (0.078 inch)). Do not worry, you can use one of the lock ties to measure it.their 1.3mm (0.050). I just made sure a tie was a tight fit or less but that the magnet did not touch the sensor when tire is rotated. The answer is no.

As long as you input the correct wheel size (I know it seems like if it is closer to the axle than the rim the speed would be differant but it is not.
