RES 2.0 out of 5 stars People who rate this book highly probably have the older N12, 14, 16 engine in their car. If you have the N-18, this still might be the best book available (unfortunately). Plan to take your own photos and make notes during disassembly to aid in reassembly. You can probably do internal N-18 engine work, but I am concerned that the torque specs are not correct. I am not doing reassembly yet, and may raise or lower my rating depending on how things turn out.Most repair photos are black and white with mediocre contrast, but you can usually tell what they are driving at. All that been said, the specs are accurate and the info complete enough to have gotten me through the several repairs I have used it for already.Completely useless for repair. They don't show a single photo for the location of engine sensors.

Another example, when it describes replacing fuel filter it doesn't even show ANY detail of the gasket, which side is up. What? It is simply a conglomeration of service info. A few pictures. It does go into detail on the engine error codes, but who cares, you can get that info anywhere. A complete waste of money. Why would other people rate it 3 or 4 stars, then say it did not have info on rebuilding or repairing. Totally useless. What was I thinking?DOES NOT have ANY information on rebuilding the engine or transmission. Nothing. No measurements of bearings, piston clearance, crank. No torque specks for anything below the head. Buy a Haynes or Chilton and save the money.Nice book, but no real information. I was hoping for detailed information. But not in this book.Also Amazon sells the timing tools too for the mini!I would not recommend the purchase of this book. More useful repair information found on mini forums and YouTube.Right away, I found it to be useful as claimed during my research for the purchase. It is organized clearly making easy navigation. There is absolutely no need to remove the intake manifold. Even in one of the pictures you can see that the intake manifold is still installed. Also, in the On-Board Diagnostics section, OBD-2,3, when talking about using a scan tool to reset the Malfunction indicator light (MIL) it does not say how to accomplish this. This will allow you to read and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).Clear, doesn't leave out steps or show different models than the one you're working on, and is COMPLETE. You could rebuild your entire car with this book.helped me do a LOT of stuff I'd never done on this particular car, saved me probably thousands over taking it to the dealer or even an independent mechanic. Buy it; worth every penny.I needed a wiring diagram of it which is the same as a 2011. The book demonstrated a 2008-2010 and did not correctly show the info needed. It was for the older engine which has been changed.My first hard cover service manual and definitely most comprehensive one as well.

I believe it is worth what I paid and will more than make up for its initial expense with repairs I do using this manual.
