Units could be bought individualy, and a 'master rack' could be purchased to house and power a whole set. Individual units took a wall wart supply for their DC power, the optional 'rack' could have a distribution power unit to power the whole lot (RPW-7 Power unit).Great for subtle tone enrichment and wild modulating feedback effects, but not that useful as a straight-up delay since the time is so short (compared to what you can get these days). Still, it's a very flexible unit. I use it for vocals on almost every take; adds a very natural echo, like you're in a cave. Also good for augmenting sustain on guitar and bass. I love setting it to a slapback delay with heavy modulation for rhythm bits, and it's especially fun if you use a non-latching footswitch so you only get the effect when you're holding it down. Overall, wonderful if you're into that old school digital tone, but if you want a hi-fidelity clean delay, look elsewhere. It uses 12-Bit digital circuitry to get that proper 80s sound. 12-Bit circuits tend to sound more analogue and less hifi than 16-Bit and they have a characteristic “Old School” sound. In this resepct it duplicates much of the functionality of the RCE-10 Chorus The power supply has a loop-through connector so units can be daisy-chained. There’s a footswitch socket for effect bypass. Maximum delay time is 400 mS Modulation Rate and Depth control Modulation and the dedicated Feedback control sets the amount of delay fed back to the input. There’s an effect bypass switch and a power switch By adjusting these it’s possible to create very subtle effects with movement but very little pitch modulation, or you can wind up the depth to get a traditional chorus with lots of detuning. Unlike simple stomp boxes, there’s lots of opportunity to shape the effect through experimentation It’s adding the depth that I need to my sound. This is one of my secret weapons” What I like is its tone control, in fact it controls the way you want to make it sound: very analog or very digital, with everything in between” It uses an external 9 VDC power supply (included). Delay is variable from 1.5 to 400 mS and the unit uses 12-Bit digital processing There are a couple of scratches on the underside but the rest of the unit looks like new. That means they need much more server space, space that has to be rented at costs that will come back every year. ENJOY! Needs replacing). Learn more Is it a mono or stereo delay. Can't seem to find that info anywhere. This is a mono delay - however, it has is very full featured for studio work. It has Delay out (for 100 wet use - which I would recommend) or Mix out, for quick easy use. I would be interested in hearing one again, because a lot has happened since then. Delays can benefit from being a little dark and dirty, and the idea of 12 bit with analog compansion really appeals to me know. I have a Boss DD3 pedal which probably uses the same technology.I would expect this is nicer again.Think it's worth buying two to get stereo. It's pretty inexpensive so stereo won't break the bank.Think it's worth buying two to get stereo. It's pretty inexpensive so stereo won't break the bank. They wouldn't have the features you get in an actual stereo unit - such as ping pong and syc'd delays and crossover feedback etc.Any of the others boxes in this range would be interesting too. These were huge for studio use in the 80's. Considering a lot of those Boss 80's pedals have become classics - and I think these are rather similar to pedals, but just better with more features.Memorials, RIPs and Obituaries Grove Park, Maidenhead, Berkshire SL6 3LW.Hosted by Nimbus Hosting. I had to use it to believe that a good power supply will get rid of all unwanted noise in the signal chain, compared to a cheaper one. I actually have 4 of them, gathered throughout the years, all still working flawlessly, and use all four plugged in a power strip under my Pedalboard Classic JR giving me a total of 2000mA and they power 8-9 pedals (mostly analog but also a couple of digital ones) without any problems. No ground loops, no unwanted noise, no need for a professional power supply (such a cioks) yet. Works really well and the build quality is top notch. I Have used them both live and in studio. One minor complaint is that the cable is really really long which is useful when you're trying to reach a socket that's far away but for me that I use them with a power strip under my pedals it can get a bit cluttered under my pedalboard when I have the four of them together. Send report Total quality A really reliable power supply YossMarr, 11.03.2020 I originally bought this for my Dunlop Crybaby Classic GCB95F, because I wanted to invest a little more in the power supply in safety's sake. Though it didn't fit through the hole for the power supply on the pedal, I've found another use for it and am happy to have bought it, because it looks and feels like a reliable and durable piece of technique and there's nothing cheap about it, don't you worry - it's worth it. It has a safety measure in an extra housing - so that if something went wrong the pedal-pedalboard would be safe. Whatsmore it has a fancy blue light that shows whether electricity flows through it.

I am kinda curious (or rather, clueless) about the Mod Bus jack on the unit. From what I understood from the manual, it seems that the Mod Bus is bi-directional (can be used as an input, or an output). So, basically, that Mod Bus jack 'auto-detects' whatever is being connected to it, and 'switches' to being either an input, or an output, right. Also, I assume that I would not need some sort of special cable, to connect to the Mod Bus jack, right. I was thinking of connecting a CV source from the modular to the Mod Bus, and was wondering if I could just use a regular 3.5mm mono cable, from my Eurorack. Thanks in advance! The manual does not really say much. There is this manual: and this (I guess from the manual that has the whole series): I guess you could try putting an LFO to that jack and see what happens. Yep.. Manual.pdf The RPH-10 which I got, came with a manual, but it does not go into specifics. It states that the Mod Bus can be used in conjunction with another RPH-10, for stereo, but does not go beyond that.

It can take an external LFO from my eurorack gear. I have the phaser, the Boss RPH. Fun! I have read about other units in the Boss Micro Rack series, being able to receive CV into the respective Mod Bus jack. However, that example of connecting two RPH-10s via the Mod Bus, was something which made me unsure if I could use CV for it. Just wanted to be sure, lest I break something. Inverting the polarity of the CV on one unit may increase the effect in stereo (depending on a few other factors that will affect phase). You can use this CV with anything, along with the micro rack digital delay, flanger, and phaser. Semi-Automatic Funboys Thanks for the advice, and info, e-grad. Inverting the polarity of the CV on one unit may increase the effect in stereo (depending on a few other factors that will affect phase). You can use this CV with anything, along with the micro rack digital delay, flanger, and phaser. Thanks for the info, a.d.a.m.baby. Good to know that. The RPH-10 arrived, and I was using a random LFO to modulate the RPH-10 via the Mod Bus input. Works great, and it sounds pretty cool, too. Thanks again for the help, wigglers! From hbc: Just a heads up for any modular minded people who have some of these laying around. It can take an external LFO from my eurorack gear. I have the phaser, the Boss RPH. Fun. There's definitely some kind of two-way communication going on. If you connect two units via the mod bus, the LFO on unit 1 will affect 2 AND vice versa. I bought 2x RPH-10s and two RBF-10s earlier this year, but haven't used them much. The phaser is nice, the flanger not so much. So, if you have device one mod depth at 0 and device 2 at some intermediate level, device 2 is the master. Vice versa works. The trick is that if you have two devices with some LFO output, they're summed and you get a complex waveform. Put 4 devices on the bus, using y cables and you've got 4 simultaneous LFOs.
BAUGHERS.COM/ckfinder/userfiles/files/canon-powershot-s3-manual-download.pdf
It will accept LFO output from a modular synth, and happily sum that into the mix. The sweep on a Moog CV pedal is all wrong, I'll have to try a few others. Oh yeah, the phaser is set up with 4 fixed all pass filters and 8 swept filters. I don't know how, exactly they're apportioned given the 3 modes (6, 10 and 12 filters supposedly). The Manual knob appears to sweep the fixed filters (despite the manual's contention that it controls the center frequency of the sweep). If you put two of them in series and use one as the master, you've got a phaser with 8 fixed poles and 16 swept poles. And 8 of them can be swept the opposite way. More flexible in some ways than the Moog 12 stage and cheaper. OH and the chip they're using for filters is basically the same as on the Juno. The Flanger isn't anything special. Due to the sweep you can't really use it for chorus, it sounds more like the MXR flange. Nothing wrong with that, just not super cool. But the ability to sync it to the phaser makes the whole package more powerful and flexible than the EHX Hoax, while not taking up much more space. The unit has some modulation and delay(?) bus jacks on the back which I think are for foot controllers. Can anyone confirm this. Long-shot, but does anyone with a manual laying around. I've Googled with no luck. I understand these things are idenical to the RDD-10 models. Cheers Phil Is the block diagram on the top of the unit still legible. That might provide some insight That might provide some insight Andrew, Thanks I have and it is. The problem is the jack labelling doesn't make a great deal of sense to me.eg: what is 'modulation bus' jack for.I might make myself a footswitch over the weekend and see what I can blow up. FINAL COMMENT In the general the whole system performed very well. The idea of creating a moderately priced, diminutive rack system for home recording is an excellent one, and Roland have certainly maintained their usual high level of design, construction and musicality.
