The TW-1 was replaced by the AW-2 in 1991. Together with the CS-1, the TW-1 is the only pedal to have a toggle switch. With only 2 controls, the TW-1 is very easy to control. The later autowah pedals have the added versatility of modulation but for the basic wah sound the TW-1 does the job without forcing the user to read the manual. Subscribe to our free newsletter Request a new review The earlier ones just had two knobs. The later ones had the switch added in the middle for a bit more versatility. You have a sensitivity knob and a peak knob. On the later ones, the switch in the middle controls the overall modulation. UTILIZATION The pedal is laid out very easily. You can tell what everything does just by looking at it. The earlier ones are even easier to use, but the later ones aren't hard to use, either. We're only talking two knobs, after all. The max would be two knobs with a switch. Just move them around, and you'll figure out how they work. I have never read the manual for this, and in fact, I've never seen the manual for these because they're so old. I'm sure you can get it on Boss's website, but I never bothered to check. The pedal can take some ridiculous abuse, and it's pretty insane how tough these pedals really are. I'd throw it in a true bypass loop, but that's just me. SOUND QUALITY The sound is great, despite it being so old. It has a very vintage, old school auto wah tone that is a lot more organic and 3d sounding than the later auto wahs out there. That said, it can't do as much. You're pretty much locked into the basic effect that Boss gave you. The extra switch on the later ones helped give you some more versatility, and I actually recommend finding those if you can. They can deliver great funk sounds, and it can work quite well in fusion, too. Aside from that, its usages are kinda limited as not much other music uses this kind of effect. OVERALL OPINION If you can find one of these at a good price, I recommend getting it.

They sound pretty good, and they can deliver some of that old school, vintage style tone that the newer ones can't seem to deliver. That said, it't not exactly an effect you're going to rush out to have on your board, so I'm not sure how necessary this is for everyone. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful Did you find this review helpful? yes no. We must adjust it with discernment. It can be used with other instruments as guitar, bass in particular is very effective. I've had several and it has not escaped the rule and I ended up selling it. Do not count cons by using it as a real wah pedal. It's easier to use but it is much less versatile. OVERALL OPINION Pedal very solid, I've kept twenty years (okay, not use it much) and it has always worked perfectly whenever I needed it. It is the strength of Boss cases, it can withstand almost anything. It is no longer manufactured for many years. A shit twenty years ago, it's always a crap today, but the oldest and most dilapidated. If you consider the price of a micro Q-Tron (Electro Harmonix), used a greater price difference is not justified because, yes, the Boss is rarer, but that's nearly the same sound quality, with possibilities of different settings, of course. 10 of 10 people found this review helpful Did you find this review helpful? yes no. Format boss traditional home, a footswitch, a switch to select the curve of the effect of an adjustable knob for sensitivity and one of the depth of the effect. UTILIZATION Trs easy to adjust, we adjust the curve and the sensitivity and finally the extent of the damage. SOUND QUALITY Trs are is good as a guitar's bass, very nice indeed.By using our services, you agree to our use of cookies. Find out more. Capo2 4.0 out of 5 stars I myself don't perform anymore, but still can amaze people with my guitar playing. I had to remove it from my pedal board due to the fact that i couldn't cable it properly, I don't have the room to keep it compact with it included. Don't get me wrong, it's very cool but hard to use, so keep that in mind if your thinking about putting it into your set up.He loves it!Super dependable. BOSS is the BOSSI bought that one and ended up keeping this one because I found the aw-2 too noisy. I use this pedal frequently in my cover band gigs for some really funky parts. I love it.The AW-3 has turned on to be everything I read and more.Quand on y a goute on ne peut plus s’en passerSorry, we failed to record your vote. Craig here! I have to admit, I actually prefer a good wah pedal for these types of tones, but a good auto wah does have it's place sometimes. Over the years, I have tried a bunch of different auto wahs, thanks to my friend Brian that has access to just about all of them (he's got the best job!). After trying a bunch of these pedals, I am seeing how these actually do have their place - I even have one permanently in my board now. If you are looking for one yourself, here are what I consider to be some of the best auto wahs on the market today. C lick here to jump directly to my top choice. Best Auto Wah Pedals Reviews Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah When I played the Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah, I was pleasantly surprised at the advancements that were made. CLICK FOR MORE INFO The Good Can be used for both guitar and bass. Previously, the Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah was regarded asore of a guitar pedal. The newest version is designed for use by both guitarists and bassists.

There is even a separate input on the side depending on which instrument you want to use. If you want to control the filter, manually you can just attach an expression pedal and control it that way. The options are limitless. The auto wah can be altered using a tempo control. Humanizer feature - One of the coolest features on the AW-3 is the “Humanizer.” This effect can give your guitar or bass a vocal-sounding effect. The formant filter on this is very useful and there is a broad range of dynamic possibilities. There are two different knobs for vowel sounds on the Humanizer function. The new Boss pedals are also more durable than their ancestors. The AW-3 is definitely built to last. I recommend getting an expression pedal to help control the pedal in real time if you are going to be playing it live. The Bad While I did not notice this, I have heard other guitarists say that this seemed to suck a lot of lows out of your tone. Not something I experienced but I thought I should mention it. Joyo JF-322 Wow Auto Wah They are great pedals for guitarists that are looking to add to their sound on a budget. This is something that the company avoided in the Joyo JF-322 Wow Wah Auto Wah. The pedal is a much more subtle auto wah than many of its counterparts. It decorates the sound instead of completely taking it over. Joyo is a company that makes great products for these people that want to experiment with new sounds. They are also great for beginners to work with a wah. The pedal will protect all four knobs and prevent them from becoming unknowingly adjusted. The four knobs on the pedal are sensitivity, bias, resonance, and decay. This pedal does a great job of adding a subtle envelope filter to their sound. It would be a great pedal for a beginner taking their first foray into funk guitar. Mooer MFT2 Funky Monkey Auto Wah Its small size and powerful performance are some of the things that impressed me a lot. CLICK FOR MORE INFO The Good: Very easy to use.
http://www.peplex.it/wp-content/plugins/formcraft/file-upload/server/con...

Its control knobs are well-positioned and easily accessible. Setting any mode is as easy and similar as it is with other typical wah pedals. Small size. I love that this takes up hardly any space in my pedal board. Well-built to survive serious stomping for a very long time. True-bypass. The Bad: The Mooer MFT2 Funky Monkey is not that great when set to the higher rates and ranges and lacks a little bit of the bottom end because it sounds a little bit whooshy, but it is great in the mid ranges. This pedal has Hi, Mid, and Low control knobs that are packed with awesome effects. CLICK FOR MORE INFO The Good Super compact. Takes just a small amount of space in your pedal board leaving room for a lot more. Can be used with both a guitar and bass. Can recreate a wide variety of different wah tones - twangy, funky, and whatever else you need. The Bad While not necessarily all bad, this pedal (at least in my opinion) is geared more towards new guitarists. But the plus side on this is that the price is amazing. Mad Professor MAD-SWAW This is something that the Grateful Dead’s legendary guitarist, Jerry Garcia, used a lot to shape his iconic tone. CLICK FOR MORE INFO The Good The pedal is easy to control. There are only four knobs. Each of them is very dynamic and has a noticeable effect on tone. My favorite knob is the “Bias” knob. It decides the frequency of the resonance. I got some really quacky filter envelope sounds when I dialed this parameter in. The pedal is not cumbersome at all. This makes it very useful in a live setting. I think that, for its size and its price, it’s the best auto wah pedal that I’ve ever played. It looks cool! Sure, not a huge feature as far as tone is concerned but I love the look of it. The Bad Price - it is definitely a higher investment, but I would say that it is still worth the price. And The Winner Is. I don't know of any guitarist that has never owned a BOSS pedal - and I know a ton of guitarists.

BOSS pedals are solidly build and have a great reputation.the AW-3 included. Rugged, built to last and ready to take abuse. The tones I got from this opened up a whole new realm for me. I freakin' love this pedal. Nothing wrong with the price either. Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah BUY IT NOW ON AMAZON How Does An Auto Wah Pedal Pedal Work. Ever wondered how a guitar makes that sound. Or how does an auto wah pedal work. Despite the name, it is not actually a pedal at all, but a component that reproduces the same effect that a wah pedal would make. Other than that, it produces very close to the same sound that a manual pedal would. They are a little different for the sound achieved from playing an instrument. The sound is in the science. The auto wah pedal has the unique ability of being totally independent from human interaction and, because of this, can be used to make sounds that a manual pedal can not. The effect is not controlled by the musician moving their foot, but the volume of the input from the instrument. Then it proceeds to alter the frequencies to cut and distort the tone. This produces the infatuating hums and intoxicating tones that bands like to use. Most pedals use an envelope detector to produce the amount of frequency needed and then use a cutoff to sweep out the unwanted frequency. Some pedals use a different method by using a low frequency oscillator to constantly change the effect. The difference is an ever responding sound that will always have a unique appeal. Most wah pedals are laid out, basically, the same way. They have a couple knobs to change the effects sound. One is a sensitivity knob to adjust the input level to match the output expected. Another, is the control for the initial cutoff point of the noise. Along with that, is the the depth control knob for the filter sweep. Some more expensive models have other optional knobs to go with these, but those three are the standard knobs.

Hopefully this can help to educate some on what exactly they would want to start looking for in the future. Share it if you liked it. Learn how your comment data is processed.

HIGH QUALITY ACCOMPANIMENT STYLES There is no doubt that the arranger styles found in Yamaha instruments are amongst the very best you'll hear from any keyboard, and the PSR-SX900 certainly doesn't disappoint. Many of the styles are taken directly from the flagship Genos keyboard, but it doesn't stop there. Yamaha has included a whole lot more styles which are new and unique to the PSR-SX900. INTUITIVE TOUCHSCREEN OPERATION The functions of the PSR-SX900 are easy to navigate using the simple and familiar touchscreen interface. Finding your way around the menus is a simple matter, and the additional six assignable 'soft keys' located under the screen allows you to jump directly to the pages you use the most with a single press. The PSR-SX-900 may be a mid-range model, but unlike other manufacturers, Yamaha has not cut down on the number of hardware buttons in order to save costs. Popular functions such as 'sustain' and 'left hold' are accessible directly from the front panel, without the need to go digging into the menu system. Located to the left of the panel are two 'live control' knobs which can be assigned to your favourite functions, such as filter cutoff, effect depth, part volume, attack, and many others. CHORD LOOPER Found a nice set of chords and just want to 'jam' around. Learning a difficult passage and need to practice the right-hand part independently. The chord looper function is for you. The chord looper instantly memorises a set of chords you play in realtime and then endlessly loops them whilst you jam around or practice a melody line over the top. This feature is particularly useful for songwriters, as well as students learning challenging musical passages. Audio recording allows you to record in.WAV format directly to a USB memory device for easy sharing with your friends or family. You can also overdub extra parts using the audio recording function, although these are not editable once recorded.

MIDI recording allows you to create compositions made up of up to 16 different instrument tracks. This is a true onboard multitrack recording studio with onboard individual note editing which allows you to correct mistakes or re-record parts as and when required. When you are happy with your masterpiece, songs recorded using the MIDI recording feature can be converted to audio for simple sharing with other people or publishing to the web. BLUETOOTH AUDIO STREAMING The built-in Bluetooth connectivity allows you to stream your favourite music tracks through the SX-900's powerful speaker system. Use this to play along to backing tracks, or simply for listening pleasure. EXPANSION MEMORY In addition to the 4GB of memory allocated to the high-quality preset sounds, there is an additional 1GB of free space for you to install downloadable sound expansion packs from the manufacturer website. OTHER USEFUL FEATURES Audio link multipads gives the ability to fire off samples using the four multipad buttons - add real-life audio to your performances. The arpeggiator can be sync'd to the tempo of the internal styles to add more grooves and rhythmic phrases to your performance. The high-resolution touchscreen can be output to an external monitor for easier viewing (with the use of a commercially available USB adaptor) - especially useful if you're singing along to the lyrics display. The powerful vocal harmony (VH2 standard) processor adds studio-quality effects to a vocal microphone input, as well as authentic vocal harmony based upon the chords being played on the keyboard, or can be controlled by one of the song tracks. The PSR-SX900 is loaded with a total of 1393 high-quality voices, of which 252 are Super Articulation, meaning they capture all the nuances of the real instruments. The new joystick controller gives full four-way X-Y control over pitch bend, modulation and other assignable characteristics of the voices.

This low cost addition to your keyboard gives the depth of sound you've missed for so long and negates the requirement for additional amplification at home. We would recommend every owner of a Yamah aPSR-S series instrument invests in one of these - you won't believe the difference it makes.
