Definitely a good purchase. This washing machine is perfect; whisper-quiet, looks great and matches beautifully with my dark grey gloss units, clothes are clean and fresh and it’s very easy to adjust washing times. I didn’t bother reading the instructions as never do and found it very easy to work out. For shorter wash times, you just need to press the time save button and this can be done more than once which gives a wash time of about an hour but still a perfect wash. I wash white and light clothes for longer. So pleased with the qualityI was using liquid and I have changed to powder it didn't help at all. I have reported it to customer services they didn't help.I am unhappy to hear that your clothing is marking when using this appliance and also for the fact that you feel as though our consumer care department have not assisted you well with this matter. No difficulties to operate the machine.
This is the first time I use a washer with spin speed in 1600rpm. The clothes are dryer than expected. The spinning sound is the quietest if compare to those I have ever used.I have also recently changed my washer to a 1600 spin and was also surprised, particularly with synthetic items, my Tumble dryer is on for far less time as well as line dried items too. We've also enhanced the insulation of our washing machines over the years, so combining that with a quiet and efficient motor, it really does help with the noise levels. Remember to run an occasional maintenance wash, probably around once per month is ideal. A high temperature on the Cottons programme with some detergent in the drawer and an empty drum will keep the drum and gusset free from bacteria build up. It's also a good idea to leave your washing machine door open in-between uses to allow air to flow through the drum and keep it fresh.Cutting down on dry-cleaning and ironing means less wear on fibr. The American Cancer Society estimates that the number of cancer survivors in the United States will increase by more than four million by 2030. As higher numbers of survivors live past the five-year mark into extended survival, the oncology care community has become more aware of the pervasive long-term and late effects of cancer and its treatment. Survivors can experience a host of issues, such as cognitive dysfunction, reproductive and sexual problems, and cardiac disease, depending on the type of cancer and treatment modality. Unfortunately, gaps in survivorship care are common. This book provides information as it relates to these distinct phases of survival—first described by Dr. Fitzhugh Mullan, a cancer survivor and early survivorship advocate, in his seminal “Seasons of Survival” editorial. Most importantly, this book offers education to healthcare professionals so that they may help cancer survivors and their families achieve better quality of life. Individuals in any cul- ture or social group, at one time in their life, have suffered and have tried to cope with their suffering. To cope with suffering, people try to understand, explain, overcome, and give meaning to it. Thus, trying to make sense of their experience. 2 Suffering occurs at var- ious times (eg, when we lose someone we love or when we are in physical or emotional pain). Cancer causes suffering because it brings with it physical and emotional pain. It is the disease that, when diagnosed, carries with it the fear of suffering. People are fearful of cancer because they fear the physical and psychological pain and the suffering that is inextricably linked to such a diagnosis.
However, for certain people the term does not adequately address the existential dilemma of what it is like to be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and what it is like to not have the social, political, and economic capital available to deal with the consequences of such a diagnosis. The authors posit that this is suffering and it occurs disproportionately in certain groups in our society. Additionally, we suggest that an individual’s experience of suffering is historically, culturally, and socially located. This means that although suffering is an individual experi- ence, the individual perspective is constructed by one’s hist ory, culture, and socio-political structure, as well as one’s economic background, and religious and spiritual perspective. This complex Seminars in Oncology Nursing, Vol 24, No 4 (November), 2008: pp 229-236 229 The problem of suffering within a multicultural context is not a simple one, and we do not intend to approach the topic broadly. Instead, the purpose of this article is to highlight some of the explicit and implicit assumptions that contribute to suffering. The nature of suffering is such that some- times we are not able to rationalize it or ?nd any meaning in it. But, one can still ?nd resources in faith, community, and by other means that may not make sense to an outside observer. Yet faith and community can function as resources that help individuals cope, despite the circumstances of their lives. In this article, little attention is given to suffer- ing as a multicultural physical phenomenon be- cause our focus goes beyond the physical to the existential. Suffering revealed through personal narratives illustrates the com- plexities, the context, and the nature of this mul- ticultural existential cancer experience. This is the story of Veronica, a 46-year-old single, black, working woman who found a lump in her breast, had a strong family history of cancer, espe- cially breast cancer, was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had no insurance. When she joined the Black Women Breast Cancer Survivor Project in October 2006, she had completed treatment consisting of mastectomy followed by chemother- apy. They said you can’t work. You cannot re- ceive this unemployment insurance and I says you’re kidding right. And I remember breaking down. So then I said okay, what do I do. And they said to try and get my SSI on a temporary basis. I was denied that. They make you feel very bad too. So that was good. So that didn’t work. I was debt free and I was able to get my condo; so for me to now have to start using those credit cards was extremely upsetting to me because I felt very proud of myself at taking care of my mother and my son and being debt free. I wasn’t enslaved to the system anymore. I hate credit cards because their interest rate will be 18 or more. I tried to tell myself I’m not a failure. What have I ever done. And throughout my whole cancer treatments, I was angry. I was an angry individual and they sent me to an oncology psych and I said it’s so good to talk to you because I said I need to get this off my chest. I am so angry. 230 M. BARTON-BURKE, R.C.
