Once through the wash cycle it will try to drain and then Have you cleaned all the drain lines including the discharge hose. You may have nothing in the pump but it could be blocked somewhere else.Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play. It's surprising what people have found in theirs. It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis. Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on.

John CBut first eliminate the basic things.It’s caused by using liquid detergent which is made from animal fat. UseIt’s caused by using fabric softener. It’s caused by the water remaining in the tub between washes. Leave the doorI give you several alternatives, sort out thru the easiest: Note your brand and model. Check on YouTube for change of motor brushes. Then disconnect your motor and check your brushes; follow noting how you dis-assemble so you can re-assemble easier. If your brushes are less than half an inch long get new brushes (thru this very site Fixya) and refit; actually this is quite easy. The spin has a lot to do with worn motor brushes. Manufactures want you to dump machines and buy; it helps them all. Not you - you shell out bucks. If you have already cleaned out your filter, which is usually just under the tub (be prepared for a lot of water; and disconnect from the wall power socket), your washer still may not spin. So look into next para below. The tech sheet is usually taped to the body of the washer inside somewhere. Note your brand and model. Check on YouTube for change of motor brushes. Then disconnect your motor and check your brushes; follow noting how you dis-assemble so you can re-assemble easier. Check the motor housing for an overload button, usually on the back and coloured black or red. Give it a push and if it clicks then the motor might have just been overloaded and shut itself off. There is a big connector located at the motor - giving power to the motor (located under the tub) to the right side, could be loose. Disconnect the connector and refit to make sure it is tight.

He informed us that the cost of his visit would NOT be covered by the warranty. It was about seven inches long. I own some stretchy socks that are not substantially larger. It would not be practical to place all of these socks into the mesh bag. I didn't abuse the machine. I just used it to wash laundry. (Silly me!) If I'd washed a Hot Wheels car (not out of the question, given that I have two boys), then I'd understand if the warranty didn't apply.;-) Love to hear from Bosch Chris, too, if you're here. Understanding that is a sort-of fundamental concept about frontloaders, and from a consumer point-of-view, I don't see a reason why such events should be covered by manufacturer warranty. Machines with a solid (non-perforated) wash basket that did a spin-drain sometimes kicked the clothes up high enough to fling an item into the outer tub. Typically a wire guard around the upper circumference of the basket served as a barrier, but items could still go overboard in cases of overloading or excessively-high water level. The specific purpose of this trap is to catch small items that may have slipped between wash drum and the outer tank, before they get into the actual pumps.

If your sock was stuck there (as it should have been), then the machine was funtioning as it should, ergo; a service call wasn't really in order. If a small sock got through and only a service technician would be able to get to it, I'd expect that to be covered by warranty. Did not catch the small sock thing, however. In 7 years only had coins, but had to open the drain trap door several times. IMO, a drain trap is necessary and should be an. And you are to use a mesh bag for small things. A non- win situation for the consumer. They have all the bases covered. About the only point to push, is how small is too small- Mr. Bosch. A 7 inches does not seem to small to me. They clearly don't expect you to wash small socks. LOL. The girl with her father has no foot. It looks like is was amputated. Just a pant leg hanging in air. In perspective of your post, it is really a strange picture. My husband was rather appalled that the consumer is barred from opening the coin trap. That's considered part of the owner's responsibility in Germany and IMO there's no reason for this to require a service call. I'm not sure how this could happen, but it did. In this case, the service call was unavoidable. I ordered a new one, which arrived after the trouble started. The sock got stuck at a time when we had no mesh bag. I don't think more than two pairs of these socks would fit into the mesh bag provided by Bosch. I suspect the only reason this could occur is the larger drum size for the American market, which requires a larger rubber gasket that fits less snugly than in the European version. Does this make sense? I'm still hoping to hear from Bosch Chris. It is not a common occurence but it is not exactly uncommon either. I have been telling customers to use a mesh bag for small items for the more than 30 years I've been working on appliances. Most of the techs I know tell their customers the same thing.

Small kids socks, ladies short stockings, some small un-mentionables that look like slingshots, can sometimes get past the guards that do work 99.9of the time. A small mesh bag also helps keep these items together so that they're not lost and will keep delicate things from snagging. As a matter of fact they are the only company that I do warranty work for that will pay for customer education calls. All the rest of them say bill the customer. As mentioned above, this activity is probably not sanctioned by Bosch and may void your warranty. Don't be too impatient, or you might get a minor flood if you unscrew the cap all the way too soon. It didn't wash well, it didn't rinse well, it tied the clothes in knots. And my wife and I have had front loaders for 13 years, so we know how they work. We bought a Duet. Cannot be happier. I can't imagine this would be a frequent issue. I didn't find much, but it seems to be working. At least I was able to open the door. If it's the error code, there is likely something clogging your dryer vent. It's been doing that since soon after we bought it. It does ok for most of the first load, but then with subsequent loads it starts to go off every 10 minutes. They just don't show up or call. I was just wondering if anyone had had the same issue and if there is a way to fix it myself. Never had a problem and have had 2 babies since purchasing them. We didn't even get a mesh bag with ours. This is the first I have heard of such a thing. There is no telling how many baby and toddler socks, clothes, etc that have been washed, and we have never lost a thing. I occasionally leave my pocket knife or a coin or two in my pants, but they end up in the bottom of the drum. I just pick them up at the end of the cycle. Then followed gassere's excellent instructions from this thread. I can get the machine to work OK for a load or two, then will not drain again. There are no objects that I can find.

The machine hums, and sometimes will start draining if I cycle the control a few times, almost as if the pump is a bit stuck. Is there a way to disassemble further without factory expert knowledge. Meaning more delicate or dark clothing tumbles in hot, concentrated solution for the first 2 minutes.It mixes warm water rather than alternate. It has the ability to 'boost' the temperature, and it seems to be a very well designed product.There's limited information available why Bosch decided to ditch their full size models like Nexxt. They had several buggs if I remeber correctly. But never looked much into them.Their mixing technology should avoid the hot-fill issue, and you could ask that new guy on YT to check the delicates cycle.I guess taking special care items to the cleaners was more of a thing.When washing sweater and such one would have to stop the machine and reset to drain, fill, rinse and spin manually, to avoid the cycle going through and damaging items. I'd live with it but the thing started to malfunction (beeping for no reason, not running the motor-unplugging would help but for how long?) Saw videos of violent shaking but shocks for those are ridiculously cheap to replace. Perm press cycle, hot. (True hot on a Perm Press.!) Display said 'heating'!And Lord, it's whisper quiet. It's so funny now, since Elux boasted 'second floor guarantee' promising to run smooth anywhere - this Bosch warns about flooring and suggests only concrete is appropriate - while the spin is so quiet I wasn't aware it spun. The Elux had issues turning over a small or buoyant load.Same issues.

Today I went and looked at the last of the SQ TL with mechanical timer and the new GE bol. I've put an ad in local paper for the Tags, can't wait to get something that fills up and maybe washes in hotter water. Am not sure how widespread the issue was however. Again think the larger machines were part of this and BSH simply settled (eventually) while not admitting their product had any issues. Some point to early models having top mounted controls which prevented stacking causing low sales. Others blame competition from Asian manufacturers making it difficult for Bosch to sell units at a price they could make money on. As such that is putting a lot of faith in terms of sales into one basket.Bosch did sell both the Logixx 10 (ten kilo capacity) washer and dryer in parts of Europe. The washer, I think, kept its weak American heater and became cold-fill only, while the dryer was limited to 3500 watts. Neither caught on - the dryer probably even less than the washer. Every washer that was wider then 24 inches suffered the same faith eventually.:-( Clothes being shredded, etc. With a puny 2kW heater and cold fill only.Its been running and has never missed a beat. The machine you have is a few years newer. Also from the looks of your controls, it looks like yours is pretty much the same as ours but a different color. Miele didn't, and they still paid a heavy price.Having Bauknecht under the Whirlpool corporate wings gave them access to a wealth of information on how to build quality H-axis washing machines. Well at least those that didn't suffer the problems Maytag had with early Neptune washers. I probably should have tried to fix it, but just recycled them instead. I bet it took ages! Have hair dryers that have more powerful heating elements (1650 watts).It was hot and cold fill and if you forced it to cold fill only, the heater would time out before it reached the target temp.Maybe the Bosch is the same.But that is not exactly true.

That is if the heating portion of cycle times out, timer will advance regardless. If that cuts into wash time, then so be it. It seems to have ten minutes allotted for heating portion of cycles. At least that is the amount of time washer will subtract from a cycle that finishes sooner than it should because water temperature was reached in less time the programmed.Especially during the winter months when the boilers are on full fire to make steam for heating as well as hot water. Learned this when after starting a load and going off to take a nap. About nearly two hours later woke up and the DW was still washing. Turns out the boilers had switched off and thus there wasn't hot water. So machine had filled with tap cold water.This will happen even if the cycle is nearly over.More so want it for more than just several minutes. They tested the Eco Cotton cycle verus the standard one and took temperature readings during the wash cycle (like they have been doing for a few years now).For an extended temp hold, most washers offer Hygiene cycles that also use extra water.And the load was calculated to take. 2hrs 45mins! (I just about fell through the floor.!). It must have been in perfect balance, because the jeans have never felt drier - I was most impressed.Near the end of the wash phase, I touched the door glass, and it definitely felt hotter than 40 deg C.Instead, simple 'fill-tumble-drain' rinses were done. The final spin was aborted umpteen times by the machine. Eventually, after twenty minutes of trying, it reset the spin programme itself, and span very noisily for a few seconds to get most of the water out. THAT is irritating. I have had loads I try to drain and spin 3 times and it just won't on some loads. It also takes almost an hour or so to do a load.so that is slow. When it works right, I am happy. I paid top dollar for the set and if I had to do it again I wouldn't. When this conks out, I am going back to a top load. They handle more clothes per load and they are so much nicer to work with. So we were eventually given new machines!! I chose BOSCH, a reliable forward thinking brand, I've had various bosch products before with no issues, ever. Then these beastly machines. We got the washer and the dryer. The dryer is fine, does it's think no issues. I've not seen a top loader for decades before I came out to the usa (from the UK, remember the twin tubs, lol). So of course I wasn't going to get an agitator to ruin my clothes. The BoSCH washer has near on caused mental illness via the sheer agonizing, infuriating consistency of it's inability to balance and spin.

There's no spin cycle of itself, so you have to go through a slow and harassing process of pushing buttons, waiting, pausing, manually repositioning, wringing out and starting the spin cycle again and again and oh it's 2-3am and I still have laundry to do. I would be better off with my late Grandmother's old twin tub, agitator included. No other front loader I've ever owned has stunk. If yours does stink I suggest cleaning it. This usually involves the hottest cycle or a clean cycle and a bottle of machine cleaning Clorox. I've done that twice in 4 years due to the filthy stuff that we've put in there. Clothes are always very clean. We use tide free and clear and occasionally fabric softner, while generally just use dryer balls. I llove the features of the dryer that allow you to flat dry delicates and the air dry only (no heat) option, as I'm happy to leave a dryer on when I'm out of the house if there's no heat involved.to avoid a common cause of house fire.Please try again later. The linens and towels don't wash as well as in the old one we had, a GE that we discarded after more than a decade of faithful service. This is an expensive machine, that does not perform well, and HAS NO SPINNING CYCLE by itself, as said. We have the drier too and again is less effective than the one it replaced. After 2 service calls it's not fixed. I'm replacing my washer with a top loader. Nevermind that the machine smells even with the door left wide open after finishing washing all loads. Towels will never smell good again.

I think the smell is the case for all front loaders regardless of brand. But this machine cost a fortune and I'm replacing in a little over 2 years. Bosch wasn't helpful at all and in fact service calls took a while to book, and now I know why. I haven't had any problems with my dryer so far (knock on wood).
