Reason for selling: Can't afford to hang onto amps this valuable Payment Method: Cash, Bank Transfer or Paypal Extra Info: Components from this ultra high end US amp specialist rarely come onto the used market in Australia, and just about never in this condition. The power amps were purchased brand new, while the preamp was purchased as a perfect trade-in, both directly from the Australian distributor. Neither have any cosmetic flaw of which I'm aware and certainly no flaw in performance. They have never needed repair, unlike the only other unit of which I'm aware that has been sold in Australia.

It's resonance-free 16Kg chassis is complemented internally with advanced surface-mount technology and micro-circuitry for minimal signal path degradation. Close inspection of its build quality reveals that it is truly a thing of beauty. Their control of bass notes and dynamics is something I've not heard in any other amps. It's hard to describe the sound as anything in particular, as it seems dead neutral. These amps may expose flaws in other equipment, but in a system good enough to do them justice, they just sing. Gosh, the price is right, a very good deal.I wish money didn't matter!Front speakers have a sensitivity rating of 92db so they require a far smaller amp or receiver to reach high volume levels.Limited stock at that. It takes this projector to another level again! Lifetime Screen Warranty. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Cards 1. Direct deposit Not sure? Call us 07 5546 1960. We are discounting our flagship screen and mount.Used until the mid-1970s and in storage since the early eighties. Tested and it works fine but will definitely need a service. Hoping that any buyer would be interested in getting under the hood and doing just that - plus cleaning the heads. I suspect the belt needs attention. Comes with 2 feeder reels and about 15 tapes recorded with various old easy listening stuff but with some mould on most. Quite heavy so posting would be expensive but would consider it - though no original packaging.Overall performance has been consistently praised for its detailed, lively and engaging character with all functions, even when driving difficult loads. It performs beautifully with an equally cost-effective pair of Spendor S6e speakers from the same owner, also advertised. Donation to SNA on sale.Free shipping. ??

I really love the sound of the M1 but unfortunately I’ve had a gain issue with my Musical Fidelity power amp and have been having to use some 20db Rothwell attenuators. These attenuators definitely affect sound quality so I’m looking at moving the M1 on. He tidied up the earthing and a few dry solder joints. I have also purchased a new rectifier and some 6H8C valves, these will be included in the sale. The phono stage was removed because I stopped using vinyl prior to buying this pre-amp. This unit was replaced by a custom three box pre-amp built by Cliff D'Souza which was in turn replaced by an Absolare preamp. Our publication is supported by its audience. Boulder’s preamps have always addressed every aesthetic, technical and interface issue and the 1010 is no exception. Internally the 1010 is a benchmark of order and design. It presents a pure interpretation of the preamplifier. True balanced input connections lead to instrumentation-style circuits for minimal distortion and the highest noise rejection possible, to reveal the purest, most dynamic sound you’ve ever heard. Balanced connections are used throughout because their performance and reliability are unmatched with any other connection method. Boulder’s own discrete resistor ladder solid-state attenuator volume control is here, straight from the 2010, the world’s finest preamplifier, giving you unparalleled control and unsurpassed clarity. Ergonomically, the 1010 is a dream. Numerous programming options make it completely compatible with the rest of your system. Each input can be named and configured with multiple user preferences or Theater Mode for seamless integration into your home cinema. The fully machined chassis is a work of art. Each panel interlocks with dovetail joints (a process usually reserved for fine furniture), giving the 1010 a timeless appearance. Even the luxurious stainless steel buttons and volume knob are hand polished in a nine-step process for a brilliant mirrored finish. But these are just the facts. What really matters isn’t a list of features or achievements. It’s the sound. To experience the real beauty of the 1010, we can only offer one piece of advice: you need to hear it for yourself. 3dave member since August 2004 Last 12 months 3 100.0 All-time 204 100.0 Items from this seller Need Help. Because the power amplifier is heavy, a solid, stable surface should be used. It is constructed of a large enough wire gauge and a cable plug appropriate for the voltage you intend to use.

Balanced cables reduce interference from magnetic and RF sources to an absolute minimum. Connect your preamplifier outputs to the inputs provided. It converts a balanced input into a RCA phono input right at the rear of the 1060. Like the above cable, the minus input of the 1060 is connected to the ground of the RCA phono. However, this minus side will then share the shield wire with the chassis ground and will not have very good hum rejection. To turn the amplifier on, press the POWER button on the front panel. The amplifier will perform a warm up cycle and the indicator will alternate between red and amber for 45 seconds. CLIP DETECTION Clipping of the waveform results when any amplifier is driven at too high a level. A clip detection circuit is included in the 1060 Power Amplifier. The indicator will indicate clipping by momentarily turning from amber to red. MAINTENANCE No routine maintenance is required for the Boulder 1060 Power Amplifier. However, to keep operating temperatures at a minimum, do not block the heat sink fins, and remove any dust buildup that may occur. When so connected the 1060 Power Amplifier will be turned on and off with the preamplifier. REMOTE. Two connectors are provided on the back of the 1060 and other Boulderlink enabled products. All the chassis are connected together in a daisy chain manner. Each Boulder 1060 Power Amplifier has a thumbwheel switch on the rear panel. Start by setting the first switch to 0 or 1 and then going up from there without any duplication. Use of the lowest numbers will speed up turn on as each amplifier is allowed about three seconds before the next. The first time a master is powered up, it will search for any “slave” units connected to it. This is particularly helpful in confirming the operating status of each power amplifier in a multiple amplifier system. Typical messages on a 1010 Preamplifier or 1012 DAC Preamplifier are as follows.

Its Boulderlink cable may have become disconnected, or the mains power has been disconnected. “UNIT 1 IS ONLINE” means that the slave is now responding via Boulderlink in a normal manner and has been recognized by the master.
