They called me in advance before the delivery and asked me where I wanted it. So I had an opportunity to request a delivery upstairs but wanted to make this point here, don't assume you can have this option. 2. The packages is quite large and quite heavy. I don't see how one person could have moved this anywhere but then I'm a woman. The delivery man using special equipment did deliver the box to our garage which was a straight shot on a driveway with no incline (they asked about this on the phone). 3. First problem I ran into was the wires that needed to be threaded up thru the left column holding up the console. A black wire is provided to pull the wire thru but it kept getting clogged up. Once I got some duct tape and taped the end so there was nothing to catch on whatever it was that caused the column to become more narrow, the problem was solved. 4. Once the column on the left and one on the right were attached (pretty easy), the console was attached also very easily although my husband had to be there holding it while I was guiding it.

There was no way I could have done this without him. He's a big guy. Though the console was bulky, I don't think holding it for this part of the installation required someone of extra strength. 5. The next problem was the most frustrating. There are two arm pieces, one on the left and one on the right. Each piece is composed of a couple of parts that needed to be screwed in. Difficult to describe but the main point is that the screws need to be screwed from the inside (near the cross bar) pointing out, i.e. in a somewhat difficult position for maneuvering. I found it impossible to screw these hex screws using the hex screwdriver provided. (the allen screwdriver was okay for the allen screws). There were a couple of reasons the hex screwdriver was so difficult. But bottom line, I went to the hardware store and bought a very long hex screwdriver with a very nice grip that made it much much easier. (because of the length, the interference from the cross bar was minimized.) 6. finished the rest of the arm pieces and powered it on and it works during our short demonstration. We figured it out but how difficult would it have been to provide this info. Other questions we figured out that were not documented. Guess I'm used to clearer info from my previous experience with assembling furniture and what not. I definitely got the impression that the manufacturers were assuming that people with experience in mechanical installations would be putting this together. Not the case with us. Whew! I was really nervous about this. Thank goodness it seems to have gone okay at this point. I have the name of a repair person for exercise equipment that will come to your home that I've used before and found highly competent. If we do have any problems, I don't plan to try to fix it myself or even call the company. Sounds like that would be a real frustrating experience. I plan to just call her. Let's hope I don't have to.

(Note- I don't remember it being documented here but for anyone not aware, the machine can only handle 300 pounds (did I say my husband was big.The bowflex 3 is only for maximum of 275 pounds - just so you know.) The delivery company arrived at the time I scheduled, and quickly moved the box into place. Set up was not very hard or time consuming, but it's best to have 2 people for this task. Pros: Good incline options, good wireless chest strap for heart rate monitoring, long treadmill for bigger strides, and seems wide enough. It seems good quality for a person of average weight to use. It does not feel cheap. Cons: Sometimes, it needs to be turned off in order to start a new program - it's like the memory needs to clear. Not a big deal, because the power button is on the front console. The power switch is on the front of the unit, near the floor. I turn it off here after using it. I don't have a treadmill mat - it's on carpet in the basement and that seems fine. I am not giving it 5 stars at this point because I haven't had it very long. We will see! UPDATE: After 3 months of light use, the treadmill does not work. It gives an error code of LS and will not operate. The call center technician was helpful, but after over an hour on the phone and trying different things to troubleshoot the issue, the treadmill still does not work. The parts needed to repair it are on backorder, and I will be without the treadmill for at least 1 month, but likely 6 weeks. NEW UPDATE: The treadmill has been working fine since the repairs. Please try again later. Steve H. 1.0 out of 5 stars The delivery company arrived at the time I scheduled, and quickly moved the box into place. Richardson 3.0 out of 5 stars However, it's been one problem after another with this treadmill. It works very well- when it works.

However, mine has an issue which hasn't been able to be sorted yet. Nautilus customer support-- that's who makes this model btw-- is very personable, but their solution is not to send a repairman but rather to send parts which one is expected to install oneself. I purchased this model treadmill about 6-8 months ago. The initial treadmill that shipped was badly damaged in the warehouse and by the shipper, but was accepted by my roommate. It ran but the frame was bent apparently by a forklift that ran into it. It would not incline but everything else worked fine. As it turns out foolishly, I went to Nautilus to get warranty service and was initially happy to hear they were shipping me a new treadmill. I got the new treadmill and since they did not want the old one shipped back to them (!) I gave it to a friend. (Now he is running and I am not) Then the replacement treadmill died, giving an LS error. Nautilus shipped me a processor board after about a month. I replaced it. Treadmill ran about a month and died, LS error again. Nautilus shipped me a processor board and a new motor after about 2 months. Treadmill ran about 3 weeks and died again. It's obvious that there is something else wrong with this treadmill, when it works it runs great but mine does not work. UPDATE: To level set this statement, I should add I consider myself to be moderately handy. I do routine maintenance on my car (replace brake pads, etc.), routine household repairs and so on. After 3 iterations of replacing a motor and circuit board myself, and having the treadmill fail shortly after repairs, the company finally sent a repairman. He installed parts and tested, and after some adjustment the treadmill has run without incident since. The only thing I can think is I was not doing the job correctly and that alignment of the parts must be much more finicky than Nautilus indicated. I am happy with the treadmill but I'm still not thrilled that they resisted sending a repairman for so long.

Anyway, it's been a year and the treadmill is running well. Please try again later. Please try again later. Kindle Customer 1.0 out of 5 stars It worked fine until early April 2012. Then it just stopped. When the board arrived I switched them out. After 3 weeks of use the second board went out. I think there is a design flaw with the unit or whoever is manufacturing this product in China is supplying defective parts in the unit and as replacements. I do not think I should have been charged for the first replacement. In addition, when I ordered the board I also ordered a new belt and asked the customer service rep to make sure that they included installation instructions for both items. When the two boxes arrived there were no installation instructions for either part. I called to ask that they email them. I was then asked if I knew they weren't made here. Please try again later. Please try again later. Alice L. Aman 5.0 out of 5 stars Unless I paid extra. Freight company was ABF in Houston TX. Let's hope I don't have to. (Note- I don't remember it being documented here but for anyone not aware, the machine can only handle 300 pounds (did I say my husband was big.The bowflex 3 is only for maximum of 275 pounds - just so you know.)Please try again later. Please try again later. T 4.0 out of 5 stars However, I didn't want to waste money on an inferior one either. The machine came in about three days. It was heavy for sure and you Will need help getting this thing in your home. As previous post have mentioned, decide what room you will have the Bowflex in. Even unassembled you will have to turn the machine on its side to move as I experienced. It took about 45 minutes to assemble from start to turning on and test running. There are just a few parts to assemble. The bulk is pre-assembled, so don't let assemble required scare you off. On mine, some screws mention in the instructions and what came didn't jive; however, it was no biggie.

The treadmill itself is definitely of high quality. I would rate it just below gym quality, but gym quality would cost you 3K. Gym quality has to be able to be pounded on for 8-10 hours at a time. For home use, I think this one will last a good long while. I'm 220 lbs and this thing held up wonderfully. Not just in walking, but running at an 8 minute mile clip. The fan doesn't do much for you walking, but when you start ramping up and breaking a sweat, the light breeze does help. I won't give this a 5 only due to the price. However, I didn't see one for less than the Bowflex that I felt comfortable would hold up and last like I think the Bowflex will. Please try again later. Please try again later. S. Fornera 5.0 out of 5 stars I ordered it oct 2, was delivered oct 10. To reiterate previous posts, this baby is BIG-box brushed against my 8 foot ceilings when the delivery men were wheeling it in. I don't have stairs, so I could just push it where it needed to go. The box had a few holes, but nothing hurt inside. The manual labels and the parts packet labels did not match up for a few things, but was easy enough to figure out what fit and what didn't. The manual also showed six bolt holes on the arm, but there were only four. I did not have to calibrate my machine before using the elevation function. All leads me to believe they may have changed a few things in the last year. Took about an hour, start to finish, to get it put together. The instructions tell you to lubricate every 250 miles, but no indication of where or how to lubricate. Also written instructions for how to adjust the belt, but no pic. I still can't find where to put the hex wrench to adjust. Luckily, the belt is perfect right now, but I know they stretch with use. Other than that, this is a great machine. INCREDIBLY quiet, if that is important to you. Very stable. The deck is super easy to raise and lower.

I love the magnetic safety disc-won't work unless the disc is in place, so even if my three year turns the machine on, she is not going to get caught in anything or shot off the back. This machine is equipped with a pre-lubricated deck and belt system. The deck and belt friction may affect the function and life of your machine; we recommend periodic lubrication. We also recommend a periodic inspection of the deck surface and under the walking belt. To lubricate the belt turn it off and unplug the machine from the wall outlet, also remove the power cord. Gently lift each side of the machine's belt and apply a small amount of the silicone based lubricant directly onto each belt while they are warm (not hot). Plug the fitness machine back into the machine base and then into wall outlet. Stand to the side of your machine and not on the belts themselves. Turn on your machine, and start the belts at the slowest speed. Let the belts run for approximately 15 seconds. Turn off your fitness machine. And repeat all steps again. Then take care to wipe up any excess silicone lubricant from the deck surface area. We recommend that you only use Silicone Spray, available at most Hardware and Auto Parts stores. If you decide to purchase this lubricant at an Auto Parts store, Napa Auto parts has a brand called NAPA 8300 that will work very well. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding the lubrication of your belts please contact us at 1-800-782-4799. Thank you again and have a wonderful day. Lisa Dahlquist Nautilus Customer Care 800-782-4799Please try again later. Please try again later. Electric Z 5.0 out of 5 stars Its great and all they say. Consumer reports rates this model with their highest rating and recommended over all the others in its price range for good reason. It is built like a brick wall and after using it daily for over two weeks it performs like it should. The box was about 7 foot long and about 300 pounds.

The treadmill needed to go into an upstairs rec room. There were two corners in the stairs so getting it up there wasn't something I was looking forward to since I'm 56 and not as strong as I was back in my twenties. With my wifes help we lifted, pushed and pulled and got it up the stairs around the corners, step by step without damage to ourselves, the stairs and walls and the Bowflex. I was very impressed on how easily it assembled. Clear, concise assembly instructions and their assembly and operating manuals are easy to understand and of top quality. I think there were a total of 5 steps. Everything fit fine. You cannot mess up. If you can turn a screw driver and tell the difference between a hex head bolt and a Phillips head bolt you can do it. Besides there are pictures if your not sure. They include the wrenches and a screw driver in the box. All the pieces that are on the right side are marked so locating where they go is a snap. Recommendations: Use your own screw drive and Allen (metric) wrenches. The included tools work fine but using your own makes assembly even easier and quicker. All the pieces on the right are marked. Marry a strong stout woman or man if you plan on moving it very far and there are no guys or gals around. Unless you are Charles or Charlene Atlas, this thing is heavy and cumbersome to move around in the box. It is still heavy and difficult to move out unassembled of the box, that is until your on a flat surface and its assembled where you can use the wheels on the unit. Going up stairs is tough and you cannot do it assembled. Would I buy again? YES it is a quality piece of gym equipment designed to last. Please try again later. Please try again later. Thus we purchased this Bowflex and it is everything that we wanted in terms of a practical treadmill. It is sturdy, and the program features are really surprisingly practical and useful.

I didn't think the programming would be as good as the Nordictrack, but they are in fact more useful and practical than I first thought. You can set it for a time period, or amount of calories you want to burn, distance, and many other setting types. You can set it for a custom workout suited to whatever type you want. I really like this. This treadmill does not have internet access like the Nordictrack and after testing both treadmills we found out the hard way that the internet is just not practical anyway(even if it was working). This treadmill is half the price of the Nordictrack, and just as sturdy. Also, does not take up near as much room as the other one did. This one is just not as bulky, but is every bit as sturdy. But, other than that, this treadmill is working just perfect. Have had it for 3 weeks now, and hopefully it will hold up well. UPDATE: Still loving this treadmill. I use the customized workout number setting so I get my own workout that is set for me, everyday, just by choosing the number. I really love this treadmill.no problems so far. Have had for 6 weeks now. Please try again later. Please try again later. M. Green 4.0 out of 5 stars We purchased this back in September of 2010 and have used it approx. 4 days a week since arrival. It wasn't too hard to set up but I did need help getting it out of the package. It is very heavy! The deliverer was great and even set it in our garage where I wanted it to be placed. I run ( 46 yrs old - female - 120 lbs. ) four days a week, four miles each run. It is A LOT quieter than my old treadmill and so I don't need headphones to listen to my media set up. (I have a screen with dvd or tv feeding into it.) And that's good because this treadmill sits farther back from the wall therefore I can't use my headphones because the cord does not reach. Others have mentioned the fan. I don't know of any treadmill where the fan really cools you off. That is really the best way to cool off while running on a treadmill.

The controls took a little time to get used to but once I got into the habit they are very easy to use. The cup holders are for bottles or something that has a lid. Your drink will sit almost horizontal, but it works. I have never had my bottle fall out. The tread area is comfortable to run on and well cushioned. It comes with oil to lubricate your belt area and the guide says it will even alert you as to when it needs it. I have not seen that as of yet. This treadmill also folds up and down very easily. Much better than my old one. My husband uses it off and on and he weighs about 180 lbs. It's a solid machine and does the job. Please try again later. Please try again later. Emma Tea 5.0 out of 5 stars The delivery guy was great, though, thankfully I didn't need the machine to go farther than my small living room. As for set up, I was grateful to have the assistance of a friend. It's easy to put together, but trying to do it alone (gosh--I'm impressed by those who did) would be insane (I love the fact that it even talks about a second person in the assembly instructions). Treadmill starting: okay, I'd definitely have to point out that to calibrate the treadmill to start pushing on the enter button (keep holding it down) and then start pushing the power button for the time they specify in the instructions (I personally didn't think this was all too clear). Noise: Absolutely NO complaints.it's quite quiet and I'm loving it. I don't have to turn the TV up so loud and I agree that I'm probably louder than the machine after running for a bit, but even walking on it.still very smooth and quiet. Overall: I'm really enjoying the treadmill. I think the only thing that I'm not thrilled about (and maybe I just haven't figured it out) is that one can't increase the time after it's been set. Sometimes I feel like I can do more, but haven't been able to push the right buttons to get the time to extend (I don't want to have to stop and start up again.I just want to keep on going).
