If the clock is within range of a DuraTime master clock, the clock will change to the master clock time within a second or two. The longer the buttons are held down, the faster the time will change. Press the Mode button to enter modes listed below. Pressing the Mode button again will return to the menu. Test Watchdog Timer The DuraTime clock processor includes a hardware watchdog timer. If for any reason. The watchdog timer operation may be tested by placing the clock into an endless program loop. Press the Mode button once to test the clock. Various mounting methods are available. The standard mounting method consists of saw tooth hangers located on the back of the clock. Simply drive the appropriate number of screws into the wall and hang the clock on the screws. This program is capable of configuring the time display rules and sending the PC’s time to the clock. A USB cable is required to connect the clock to the PC. It’s recommended to first connect the clock to the intended power source for five minutes or more. The time display rules are also displayed.

The clock is protected against power failures with a rechargeable or Lithium battery. During the absence of power, the display is blanked to conserve the battery. All operating parameters are stored in non-volatile memory. The Up and Down buttons are used to change modes and values. Press the Mode button again to exit the current mode. The mode change function will timeout and return to normal time display mode after 60 seconds of inactivity. It is, by no means, intended to be all inclusive. There are many thousands of ways to configure timers.Normally display real time hours, minutes and seconds. An ordinary light switch with red wall plate is recommended to control the timer. When the code blue switch is turned on, the display will immediately switch to up timer mode, reset the timer, start counting up from zero. Stop the timer at 10 minutes and sound the alert horn for five seconds. Display hours and minutes on a four digit display with blinking colon while timer is running.Enable the auto-restart feature to automatically restart the timer in the event of a power failure.Stop at zero and sound the alert horn for 5 seconds. Display hours, minutes and seconds using an eight digit display. When the timer is started, the red light goes out and the green light illuminates. When the timer gets down to 1 minute, the green light goes out and the yellow light illuminates. The down timer will start at 1:00:00 and countdown to 00:00:00. At 00:00:10, the display will blink during the last ten seconds. You may change this configuration at any time. If your clock has serial sync wires, connect the red and black wires to the red and black wires of a master clock. Slave clocks receive sync pulses, while master clocks send pulses every second. Pressing the Up button or momentarily closing the up line will increment the count. Pressing the timer control button or momentarily closing the code blue line will decrement the count.

Pressing the Down button or momentarily closing the down line will reset the count. The duration of any single alarm can range from 1 to 99 seconds. Additionally, each alarm setting may be pulsed from 1 to 99 times per second. It can be used to control real time displays, timers and counters. The remote can also be used to access and change the clock’s configuration. The remote control receiver must be factory installed. The Tiger processor is usually found in timers, counters, and more complicated displays. The Mega processor is used where other features are needed that are not available in the Tiger processor, or displays not requiring features found in the Tiger processor. For example, an eight digit clock would require a value of 2. A time zone offset may be applied to each time source 1-24 1-24 Time Source display. The dimming value to use is set by Mode 37-60 (1-15). The intensity will be returned to the original intensity when the alarm goes inactive. In addition to day-of-the-week combination codes, Mode 29 also accepts any day combination. When the power is restored, the correct count will display (version 1.77 and later). Disable sync output if clock is a slave, or it is receiving time from a PC. Enable if clock is to server as a master clock sending time to other clocks or a PC. When this mode is active, the timer will not increment unless sync data is received once per second. When sync data is receive, the timer seconds are set to the sync seconds received. A delay is then applied to add fractional seconds to the time received. This will effectively cancel the delay caused by the time required to send the time over a serial communications line. This mode is still available for special applications. Centigrade will be display as degrees x 10. For example, 25.2 degrees C will display as 252C.See also Mode 32-42.This applies to serial two wire Ethernet, and power line sync.Color change can be used with this function.

For example, a red display could turn green while counting down, changing to yellow near the countdown and back to red when real time returns. See Modes 61, 62, 63 and 64 to configure the sunrise and sunset parameters. If the timeout value is 0, the alarm will sound until the code blue line is momentarily closed. Pressing the start button again has no effect.Press the same button again to change the seconds. The Change End button displays the Ending hour, minute, and optionally, seconds. Press the Reset button to display the month and day. To display the clock’s address, hold the mode button down until the display stops flickering and a number appears. The counter field is used to send the days or hours;. Timer Control Blanking Pressing the Timer Control button blanks the display. The sync status indicator is always set immediately. This version will not repeat radio packets. However, the radio can be reconfigured using the command buttons. However, for new displays using HT1632 drivers, Mode 51-7 controls all the digits on a single display board. The last digit of the display controls the intensity for that display. This mode will activate the output relay at the designated warning time for 1-50 seconds. The thermostat feature cannot be used with four channel relay operation. For example, 357 represents the last Sunday in March, or 1117 represents the First Sunday in November. The day of the year derived from this rule is stored in Mode 52-8. If the DST date is a fixed day (i.e. 15 of the month), then set this mode to 0 and enter the Julian day into Mode 52-8 instead. For example, 357 represents the last Sunday in March, or 1117 represents the First Sunday in November. For example, if eight alpha digits are installed and the message length entered is 24 characters long, the message will flip one frame at a time, displaying eight characters at a time. Mode 18 must be set to the number of time zones that will be used. This value is used by Mode 24, code 10.

Both modes 52-1 and 52-2 must be set to the desired day of the year. If Mode 53 has the same date, the alarm will activate only one day. Enter South latitudes as negative values. This method of time measurement is used in Astronomy and other disciplines. BRG clocks are designed for organizations that require reliable and accu rate synchronized time. The BRG multi-path wireless clock system is highly reliable. The system operates on the license-free 2.4 GHz Industrial, Sc ientific and Medical band. Spre ad Spectrum radios are used to enhance signal coverage, along with AES 128 bit encryption to enhance security and reliability. Multi-path wireless communicatio ns are used to propagate the time signal throughout any size facility. The fa ilure of any single clock will no t affect the rem aining clocks in the system. Supervision is availa ble to automatically check the oper ation of all wireless devices on the system. The system can be configured to use m ultiple, simultaneous time sources. For exam ple, NTP and GPS time sources can be used at the same time. Multiple master clocks may be used so that if one master clock is down or loses sync, the system autom atically continues to function normally from the secondary master clock. BRG digital clocks include an internal Lithium battery that will maintain the tim e for up to 10 years. BRG battery powered clocks u tilize a redundant parallel battery configurat ion that allows the clock to func tion even if a battery fails. No other system on the markets offers this level of reliability and ease of operation. Each master clock may be configured for a va riety of tim e zone and Daylight Saving Rules, including UTC (Zulu) Time, Any World Time Z one, Half-hour tim e zones, Enable or Disable Daylight Saving Time, and selectable 12 or 24 hour display form ats with digital intensity contro l on digital clocks. This clo ck system will perf orm flawlessly for any size facility, or campus. Master Clock Package Contents 1. RC100 Master Clock 2. Construction: ABS plastic cabinet allows the internal antenna to communicate with any number of secondary devices. Power Requirements: Four LR6 (AA type) Alkaline or Lithium primary batteries For best results, locate the master clock within 150 feet from the tim e zone clocks. 1. Connect the network cab le into the back of the master clock. 2. Plug the low voltage cable from the AC adap ter into the back of the m aster clock. 3. Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet. The master clock will attempt to autom atically re gister with the computer network using DHCP. If a network connection is succe ssful, it will then attempt to acquire network tim e from public time servers using NTP (Network Time Protocol). If DHCP is not available, the master clock’s netw ork interface must be configured with fixed IP address information. If an internal or other tim e server is to be used in place of public tim e servers, then this too will need to be cha nged in the network in terface. See the Ethernet Communications section later in the m anual for mo re information about c onfiguring the Ethernet interface. A “T” w ill appear on the lower left side of the master clock’s display when it is actively bro adcasting time packets.

The master clock incorp orates a high precision te mperature com pensated qua rtz oscillator, so the clock will maintain the time for an extende d period without external tim e updates. An optional GPS receiver is available for the master clock. This receiver sends the time rece ived from the GPS satellites wirelessly to the m aster clock. The GPS receiver can be used in addition to NTP time for a redundant time source. Connections on the back of t he master clock. 7 The alarm relay includes 10 Amp contacts. Larger lo ads should m ake use of a slaved relay. Analog Clock Installation The clocks should be brought with in 150 feet of the operating master clock. Insert batteries into the clock’s battery holder. The clock will receive a tim e update from the m aster clock and move the hands to the configured time zone. Digital Clock Installa tion If the clock system is comprised entirely of dig ital clo cks, the digital clock will receive and m ove to the correct tim e (if it isn’t already there) as soon as power is applied. In this case, wireless alarm relay s are available. Wireless relays should be located within 150 feet of continuously active network transmissions. Switch positions 3-6 sets the alarm zone number (binary 1-12). Switch positions 7-10 sets the radio channel number (binary 0-15). Setting the channel to 15 will cause the device to transm it and receive on all channels. When switch position 2 is in the up position, the rela y will activate as long as audio is playing. When the switch is down position, the relay will use the tim ed values i ndicated in the drop down box of the Windows alarm configuration program. In addition to the time relay values, the relay can be configured to rema in on or off indefinitely.

Also included are various Westminster clock chim es. These chimes can be conf igured as a campus wide clock chime system. For best results, use only SanDisk brand m emory cards. The wireless alarm relay include s 10 Am p contacts. Larger load s should make use of a slaved relay. Wireless Relay modules receive and repeat all radio transm issions to propagate the signal throughout the facility. The wireless control program for Windows is ava ilable to configure and control alarm settings. Setting the channel to 15 will cause the device to transmit and rece ive on all channels. Repeaters and analog clocks always transm it and receive on all channels. 9 The internal clock is backed up using a 10 year Lithium battery to prevent tim e disruptions due to power outages. All m aster clock configuration parameters are stored in non- volatile memory and are unaffected by power outages. The master clock transmits tim e updates usi ng a 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence, Spread Spectrum digital radio. All data transmitted is encrypted us ing AES-128 bit data encryption for security and reliability. The RC100 master clock broadcasts time updates every second (86,400 tim es per day). The analog clock movement periodically turns on th e internal radio transceiver for 5 seconds in preparation for a time update. After which, it places th e radio transceiver in sleep mode. In this mode, the transceiver is no longer op erational and uses very little power to remain in sleep m ode. If the batteries are removed while the transceiver is in sleep m ode and immediately inserted, the hands will move to 12:00, but the m ovement will not receive a time update.
This is becaus e the capacitors within the movement keep the transc eiver powered enough to rem ain in sleep mode for several minutes af ter the batte ries have been rem oved. To re set the transceiver, remove the batteries for at least five minutes. Then insert the batteries. The hands will move to 12:00 and wait for reception. Then the hands will move to the correct time. If the ra dio transceiver is not reset, it will still recei ve a tim e update and move the hands to the correct ti me; however, it will be some time later. If a battery clock is in low power mode, rem oving and reinserting the batteries or pressing the receive bu tton will enab le reception. Changing batteries in battery powered analog clocks Batteries should be changed as soon as the cloc k second hand begins doub le stepping. If all clocks are double stepping, then first check that the transmitter is operational. Remove all batteries, then insert new batteries. All replacement batteries must be new and of the same type. 10 Normal operation of the second hand should start by the next day. Pressing the REC ore Reset buttons should cau se the clock to receive a time update. Multiple time sources m ay be used simultaneously. Analog clocks will step the second hand every two s econds if sync is lost for m ore than a day. On 2.4 GHz devices, channels 0- 15 correspond to 802.15.4 channel 11-26. Only four buttons are used to navigate the menu. The Mode button enters the Menu. The Up and Down buttons move up and down through the menu items, and are used to change parameter values.
